Welcome to the homepage of the Eleven Time MIFA Theater State Champions!

The St. Johns Public Schools Drama program consists of the St. Johns Middle School Drama Club and the St. Johns High School Drama Club. The St. Johns Middle School produces one musical per year in the Spring, and in recent years, shows have included The Wiz, Bye Bye Birdie, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and Annie.

High school students have the opportunity to be involved in as many as 3 extra-curricular productions during the school year: A Fall musical, a Winter MIFA competition play, or Forensics competitions. Show staged in recent years at the High School include Blood Brothers, Guys and Dolls, Tea House of the August Moon, Into The Woods, and Oklahoma.

St. Johns High School, in St. Johns, Michigan, is a member of the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association and has an active and vibrant Drama program. Over 300 SJ students participate in at least one production each year. In the past 3 years, SJHS has advanced to the MIFA Regional competition 3 times. In 2008, St. Johns won the MIFA State competition with their production of Blood Brothers.

SJPS theatrical productions are open to all students. In addition to acting roles, opportunities abound for students to become involved backstage management, student directing, set construction, lighting and sound design, stage crew, publicity, costuming and makeup. Auditions schedules are available online, announced at Drama Club meetings and posted on the Club bulletin board.
